With Christmas just a few weeks away many of us will be worrying about the bill.  We want to buy something special, something that will please and will be cherished but it has been a tough year financially and there is not a lot of money to spare.  So what to do?

The most important factor is quality.  No one wants to find cheap trash inside that Christmas wrapping.  They probably won't wear it or if they do it will be grudgingly so that they will probably be pleased when the garment falls apart at the second washing.

So having decided that buying best quality is a given, then how do you manage it when the budget is small.  There's the clue.  Small!  Keep it small.  Yes you could use the credit card to buy a real silk nightdress and spend the first 3 or 4 months of the New Year paying off the debt.  But do you really want to mortgage your future to a nightdress?  It is true that a real silk quality nightdress will, if properly cared for, last for many years but if you really want to lavish such luxury on your loved one it is far better to plan ahead and save for it - it will cost you less and you too can enjoy the Christmas Day opening of the best nightdress she has ever worn.    But some real silk panties, a camisole, even perhaps a chemise will not stretch the budget as far as a long nightgown and will undoubtedly give as much pleasure.
