Liu Zige swims gold for China Olympics 2008
Liu Zige (picture above) just won the women's 200 meters butterfly final at the Beijing Olympics 2008 today. She beat her teammate Jiao Liuyang (picture below).
But more important is that both Chinese swimmers beat the former world record: Liu Zige swam a 2:04.18, 1.22 faster than the old world record, and Jiao Liuyang swam a 2:04.72.
Why is everybody so fast?
We can see on the picture that Liu Zige is wearing a Speedo swimsuit, but the main reason for all the records in the water is the pool.
Imagine you jump into a bath: how much waves do you make? A lot!
Now imagine you jump in a pool: how much waves do you make? Much less!
The Chinese Olympic Pool in the WaterCube is even bigger than the pool you just imagined.
The Chinese Olympic Pool is deeper than any Olympic pool before and it has 10 lanes in stead of the usual 8.
This means that there is less water turbulence as usual, hence you can swim faster as there are lesser waves to bother you.
Add to that great swimwear and years of training and you could be the next word record holder ;-)

McCain could have used Paris Hilton stockings to beef up his campaign: at least there will be something substantial to look at and nobody would hear what McCain is jabbering about...
But oh, no, McCain had to compare Obama with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears...
Maybe McCain should start with buying some glasses as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are from the female gender, where Obama is not.
And once McCain has glasses that can show him these simple differences, maybe he is ready to see that US citizens hardly are able to buy houses these days. And it does help to have a house when you do need to educate children about family values.
But maybe the McCain people are too busy watching porn that they needed to justify that by comparing 2 sexy blonds with Obama.
Sadly but true they must be living still in the pre Paris-Hilton-in-jail era, as these days Paris has changed her image in a much more substantial way.
Which can't be said about Britney nor about the so called solutions McCain and Obama are trying to sell to the American people.
So all in all, I have no clue what wrinkly white-haired guy McCain is comparing in the first place... Maybe I am now as smart as McCain?
Why do we need McCain when he repeats Obama?
McCain isn't even original. Obama already said in 2005:
"Andy Warhol said we all get our 15 minutes of fame."
"I've already had an hour and a half. I mean,
I'm so overexposed, I'm making Paris Hilton look like a recluse."

Now don't think these one piece bathing suits are oldfashion: have a look at this sexy swimwear from a Chinese Olympics fashion show held in May this year.
The worst of all Olympic swimming trials must go to this one piece swimwear: although very original and colourful on the left, I guess the choice of material is really not flattering the model... Impractical, not aerodynamic and by all means I wonder whether this girl just had a mastectomy of some sort...

You need some little fishes for the dolphin Olympics? Then use the one piece bathing suit below: if you swim fast enough, I am sure you will be able to catch some little shrimp and other small bait to keep the dolphins happy after performing their stunts ...
They must have heard my comments because they quickly added a Dolphin Olympics 2 makeover. A big improvement at the top but the skin-colored bottom... as if you have some extra belly fat hanging out...
